The Pale Blue Eye
BFD is proud of our collaboration with Director Scott Cooper and Editor Dylan Tichenor, to create the title graphics for Netflix’ THE PALE BLUE EYE. There is a lot of on-screen handwriting within the film, and BFD’s Creative Director, Randy Balsmeyer, proposed having all text that appears on screen be either handwritten, or authentic type from the period (1830). Balsmeyer brought in the quirky and talented calligrapher Bernard Maisner, to contribute handwriting for the main title and all the main credits. BFD’s team worked with Maisner to animate and add texture to the titles.
