A Walk in the Woods

Big Film Design is proud to have created the title sequences for A Walk in the Woods, opening this week in theaters nationwide. This project was a labor of love for producer and star Robert Redford, based on the best-selling novel by Bill Bryson. The extraordinary cast, including Nick Nolte, Emma Thompson, Kristen Schaal, Nick Offerman and Mary Steenburgen bring an amazing energy to this funny and heartfelt story. BFD’s Randy Balsmeyer worked with director Ken Kwapis, editor Carol Littleton, writer/producer Bill Holderman and producer Chip Diggins to frame this wonderful picture.

In this comedy adventure, celebrated travel writer, Bill Bryson (played by Academy Award winner Robert Redford), challenges himself to hike the Appalachian Trail – 2,200 miles of America’s most unspoiled, spectacular, and rugged countryside from Georgia to Maine. The peace and tranquility he hopes to find, is anything but, as he is accompanied by the only person he can find willing to join his trek – his long lost former friend Katz (Academy Award nominee Nick Nolte). The trouble is, the two have a completely different definition of the word, “adventure”.
