Countdown to Zero
Last weekend, COUNTDOWN TO ZERO opened in New York and Washington DC. Beginning this Friday, July 30, and over the next few weeks, it will open in theaters around the country. Big Film Design is proud to have designed titles and motion graphics for this extraordinary, eye-opening film, and we encourage you to see it.
COUNTDOWN TO ZERO traces the history of the atomic bomb from its origins to the present state of global affairs: nine nations possessing nuclear weapons capabilities with others racing to join them, with the world held in a delicate balance that could be shattered by an act of terrorism, failed diplomacy, or a simple accident. The film features an array of international statesmen, including President Jimmy Carter, Mikhail Gorbachev, Pervez Musharraf and Tony Blair. It makes a compelling case for worldwide nuclear disarmament, an issue more topical than ever with the Obama administration working to revive this goal today.
Magnolia Pictures’ COUNTDOWN TO ZERO was directed by Lucy Walker, produced by Lawrence Bender and developed, financed and executive produced by Participant Media, together with World Security Institute.
“A politically urgent picture, it will also literally scare the breath out of what will certainly be a worldwide audience.”
— John Anderson, Variety
