Big Film Design is proud to have created titles and graphics for two amazing films opening this week, Silence and Paterson. The films could not be more different. Silence is Martin Scorsese’s epic, decades-in-the-making tale of Jesuit priests in 17th Century Japan. Paterson is Jim Jarmusch’s intimate story of a bus driver/poet who lives in New Jersey. Both films are thought-provoking and moving, and both films happen to feature Adam Driver!
Silence is the story of two 17th century Portuguese Jesuit priests (Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver) who face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor (Liam Neeson), who has disappeared. Silence is based on the 1966 novel by Shūsaku Endō.

Paterson is a bus driver/poet in the city of Paterson, New Jersey. The film quietly observes the triumphs and defeats of daily life, along with the poetry evident in its smallest details. On-screen poetry animation was done by BFD. The film stars Adam Driver and Golshifteh Farahani.
