THE RIDICULOUS AND THE SUBLIME
Two new movies with title sequences by Big Film Design open in theaters this week. Let’s Be Cops from 20th Century Fox, and The Giver, from the Weinstein Company. They couldn’t be more different!
Let’s Be Cops, starring Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans, Jr. and directed by Luke Greenfield, is the very funny (and slightly raunchy) story of two friends who dress up as cops for a costume party and, as they say, “stuff happens”.

The Giver, starring Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep and directed by Phillip Noyce, is based on the renowned 1993 novel by Lois Lowry. It mixes a story of adolescence with utopianism and totalitarianism. Very heady stuff! And beautiful too.
