Big Film Design created titles for the new film, Effie Gray. The movie stars Dakota Fanning as the title character and opens in US theaters today, April 3, following a successful run in the UK. Effie Gray was written by Emma Thompson, who also co-stars, and was produced by Sovereign Films with Donald Rosenfeld and Andreas Roald. The film tells the story of the teenage Effie and her unconsummated marriage to Victorian art critic John Ruskin (played by Greg Wise). The cast also includes Tom Sturridge, Derek Jacobi and Julie Walters.

The titles bring an authentic Victorian flavor to the film and were designed by BFD’s Randy Balsmeyer. Effie Gray continues a long relationship with producer Donald Rosenfeld, dating back to our mutual involvement with Merchant-Ivory Productions.

We hope you enjoy this beautiful and engaging film.
