The Adjustment Bureau

Universal Pictures’ The Adjustment Bureau opens nationwide today, Friday, March 4. Big Film Design is pleased to have contributed some “invisible” visual effects. Here’s a clue to help you find some of them: whenever Matt Damon appears to be riding in a bus, he’s really on a green screen stage. BFD’s Randy Balsmeyer worked with director George Nolfi, DP John Toll and VFX Supervisor Mark Russell to shoot the background footage and the stage photography. BFD’s compositing team put the sequences together to create bus rides that would have been impossible to shoot practically.

“… a witty mix of science-fiction metaphysics and old-fashioned fluttery romance.”
Manohla Dargis, The New York Times

“There are going to be times when we can’t wait for somebody. Now, you’re either on the bus or off the bus. If you’re on the bus, and you get left behind, then you’ll find it again. If you’re off the bus in the first place, then it won’t make a damn.”

Ken Kesey as quoted by Tom Wolfe in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test

Now when was the last time you heard someone quote Ken Kesey? We hope you’ll “get on the bus” and enjoy a ride on The Adjustment Bureau.
